However you wish to say it during the time of celebration,
the Staff of the Rolling Prairie Library System wish you the best holiday season
ever.
For some it is Merry Christmas, others Happy Chanukah, and
many practice the celebration of Kwanzaa. There are many special holidays at
this time of the year, each with traditions and celebrations. In our library
community, we are all different in how we celebrate this season and in the
skills we bring to our libraries. However, in one way we have a common goal, to
provide the best service possible to the people we serve. For some of us it is
not just a job but also, a calling or a passion.
This Christmas season, I look around and count my blessings
of family, home, church, and country. Of those blessings, one really stands out
this year and that is my library family. For we, in Rolling Prairie, are a
family. We care about those we serve but we also care about each other. We
work together like a family, have disagreements like a family, and we apologize
and forgive each other like members of a family.
About now I imagine some of you are saying, “Give me a
break! Get off the soap box.”
So, I will. This last year has been a great one here at
RPLS. If we continue working together, (like a family) 2006 will also be
great!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all!
