Seen at the ALA Exhibits in JuneI spent some quality time visiting the exhibits at the ALA conference. They were huge! Over 40 different aisles and I walked up and down every single one of them! Often at the back you can find smaller companies or unique products. Here is a sample of some of the things I found that looked interesting. Check them out -- they may be just what you are looking for. Marion Grebow Custom Tile Design. Imagine building a wall that unites a community. Custom Ceramic tiles to commemorate an event or fundraising program. Individual tiles of stock designs with names on them, or custom tiles designed just for you. For more information www.grebowtiles.com. Nescheen Book & Paper Mending Tapes—a product from Germany that is “green”. When I asked what made their product different from the others, I was told that it is the way it is made. In the US, the adhesives are dissolved in solvents, but in Germany they are dissolved in water—thus no byproducts. Look for their products in your library supply catalogs. The Hollinger Corp is their primary vendor. A great Christmas present. More information at www.librarybags.com. Movie Licensing USA. When I stopped, they asked if I knew about the free posters and bookmarks that are available for their customers for download from their website. I did not and thought that maybe some of you that have this movie licensing agreement did not know about it either.
