Web 2.0
RPLS kicked off
its year of exploring Web 2.0 with Frances Jacobson Harris and “Web. 2.0 :
Land of Unexpected Consequences” on Friday, August 8th. If you were unable
to attend, her PowerPoint presentation and list of her
resources and links can be found on the
RPLS Web 2.0 webpage. This page will be
expanded as we explore Web 2.0 with print and web resources that can guide
you through the maze of Web 2.0 applications.
What is up next in
our journey of exploration? Social networking!! In September our Web 2.0
workshop will start with a look at the new
WebJunction Illinois. It has
been redesigned and contains several social networking features. We shall
also explore
Library Learning (L2), which will soon replace
CLeO.
Discussion and a look at Facebook, MySpace and Ning will round out the
session.
Your homework
assignment for September is to log into
WebJunction Illinois, and if
you have an account update it. If you do not have an account, create one.
