Click on the Take Action button under Illinois
General Assembly Restore Library Funding

You will then see information and a message to your
state legislators. Select email and at the bottom of the page fill in the
sender information.

Click the “Send Message” button

Another screen will come up confirming the email was
sent to your representatives. This is based on the zip code you entered in
the sender information.

On this page is also a place where you can send this to
six friends and encourage them to email their representatives.
If you want to send a message to a different Senator or
Representative than your personal one, such as to House leadership follow
these instructions.

Click on “Elected Officials” selection

Locate the person you are looking for by searching
using your zip code or your legislator's name or locate them in the
alphabetical listing, and click on the
link.

Their bio information will come up. Click on the
Contact button

A line similar to this will appear “Contact Sen. Dale
Righter via email.” Click on that line.

You will have a choice of sending the Library Funding
message that can be edited or compose your own message. Select your option
and click the next step button.

Now you have either the message or a blank screen.
Complete your message; fill in the sender information and hit “send
message.”

You will have the option of sending this message to six
friends.

Follow the same steps to send additional messages to
other officials.
If your state legislators do not have email, keep this
sheet and when you return home write them a letter and send it by U.S. Mail
or fax to their offices.
