June 30, 2011 Rolling Prairie Library System

Today is the last day of the Rolling Prairie Library System. It has been 45 years since Rolling Prairie opened its doors in July of 1966. There have been many changes in those years, some good and some not so good; however, Rolling Prairie continued its work of library development and resource sharing.

I have been honored to serve you, our members, as your Executive Director for the past six years. You are colleagues and friends whom I am grateful to have met and worked with. All the RPLS Staff wish to share with you our heartfelt gratitude for all the kind words and messages that have been sent our way the past few months as we worked to transition the system. They were a welcomed touch in these difficult times.

Tomorrow, July 1, a new day begins. The Illinois Heartland Library System will be here to serve your library needs. Same location and same phone number. For more information, check out the Illinois Heartland Library System Website.
