Professional Staff Award 2005


This award is open to any staff person with the responsibility of being the director or designated head librarian of a library or department of a library, which is a member of RPLS.

The nominee for this award should have—

  • Symbolize the ideal of providing exceptional customer service to the community they serve and have implemented a local library program of exemplary quality.

  • Serve as an advocate of libraries and their role in society.

  • Shown active leadership by serving on RPLS committees, boards, or shown other support of the system.

  • Have earned the respect of his/her peers and co-workers for their innovative ideas in the library field.

  • Administered a recent major project or several smaller projects at their library.

When making your nomination, tell us what the nominee has accomplished to be deserving of the professional staff award?  Give examples of the nominee’s commitment to customer service or aspects of the library program they have implemented. How has this person shown leadership in RPLS?  Has a major accomplishment been made or have many smaller (but important) contributions been achieved?
