April 10 was Illinois Library Day, the day we headed to Springfield to let our state Representatives and Senators hear about library issues.
Bad weather cancelled the planned march to the capitol, but the group's
enthusiasm was not damped. Bev Obert rallied the group with cheers and songs.
Speakers include:
- Dennis Danowski, the Director of Macomb Public Library, Master of
Ceremonies.
- Jesse White, the Secretary of State and State Librarian.
- Karen Danczak Lyons, the First Deputy Commissioner of
Chicago Public Library.
Representatives from various library organizations were recognized
including:
- Illinois Library Association (ILA)
- Illinois Library Systems Directors Organization (ILSDO)
- Illinois School Library Media Association (ISLMA)
- Illinois State Library (ISL)
- Illinois Association of College and Research Libraries (IACRL)
- Consortium of Academic and Research Libraries in Illinois (CARLI)
