Vendor Discounts Through Rolling Prairie Library System

Rolling Prairie Library System has been able to obtain several ongoing vendor discounts that are available to all system members.

B. Dalton Bookseller

The B. Dalton stores in Champaign and Springfield have offered a 20% discount on books in stock to Rolling Prairie Libraries.  To obtain a deferred payment account, contact the B. Dalton, Champaign or Springfield, nearest you for the application.

Baker & Taylor

Discounts to Rolling Prairie Library System school library, academic library  and public library members.  Be sure to identify yourself as a member of the system to obtain your discount when first setting up your account with Baker & Taylor

Brodart Co.

A 15% discount will apply to prices from all pages and sections of the current Brodart Supplies and Furnishings Catalog (excluding Security Systems/Accessories and ImageMouse, ScanPro Products; Solutions Furniture Line and Books & Automation Division Products).

BWI (Public Library Division of Follet)

BWI is the public library division of Follett, a world leader in providing materials to libraries and academic institutions.

You can register for their FREE website, TitleTales at www.bwibooks.com.  Once on TitleTales, you will be able to see the actual discounted price for each item.  If you think you already have a TitleTales account and cannot remember your Username or Password, contact them at 800-888-4478, and ask to speak to Customer Service, or email bdorris@bwibooks.com.

*On a consistent basis, less than ½ of 1% of items that BWI provides require a service fee. This fee is only applied when BWI is extended little or no discount from the publisher.

Should the library purchase items that require the special acquisition cost, these titles will incur a Special Acquisitions Cost of $5.95 (1 copy), $8.95 (2 copies), or $10.95 (3 or more copies) per title.

The special acquisition cost will be determined on a case by case basis, when they receive the item(s) from the publisher.

Shipping:
They are waiving all shipping cost for members of the Rolling Prairie Library System through the summer.  Normally, the cost of shipping is approximately 5% of the order shipped, and is based on the weight of the shipment.  Shipments from BWI are carefully arranged and packaged with recycled white newsprint.  Each box is affixed with a label with the following information.

Name, Address, Phone Number, and Fax Number of BWI
Name and Address of the recipient
Invoice Number
Purchase Order Number
Number of boxes within a shipment

All shipments from BWI are shipped via surface/ground, unless you specifically request a next-day air shipment.  Next-day air charges will be billed to the library.  BWI currently ships with FEDEX Ground from their facility in Lexington, KY.

Demco offers RPLS members the following discounts:

Minimum: $50.00 for all terms to apply.

Shipping: Demco Inc. will incur Regular FedEx ground service shipping costs on all stocked Supply and Learning Material orders.

Transportation will be prepaid and added to all orders that are Drop Shipped, such as Furniture and Equipment items. Demco, Inc. will furnish good faith estimates of shipping charges as related to products orders.

Express shipping is not included.

Highsmith has the following special discounts on products ordered from current Highsmith catalogs.

• Items stocked by Highsmith receive 15% off catalog prices.

• Items shipped from the manufacturer receive 11% of catalog prices.

• Stock shipments of $100.00 or more will qualify for free freight. The freight is prepaid and added to your invoice on items shipped from the manufacturer. Minimum order requirement of $25.00 or more.

To receive the discount, all orders must contain Highsmith Co-op No. 74058. The discount is not good in combination with any other special offers, bids, orders already in progress or on delivery charges.  Some items may be excluded from bid prices. Freight Terms: Actual shipping charges averaging 3-7% of each total invoice will be paid by the Library. 

Payment Terms:  Standard Payment terms are 1% 10 Days/Net 30 Days.  Payment is required for invoices within these terms even when a purchase order has not been completed.  Ingram does not invoice for items until they have been shipped.  Ingram offers a 1% cash discount on payments made within 10 days of statement date. Credit card payments are not eligible for this discount.  Payments must be postmarked by the 10^th of the month to qualify for the 1% discount.  This discount is shown on your invoice and must be taken at the time the invoice is paid and cannot be taken retroactively.  These additional savings can be substantial when you take advantage of the prompt payment discount.

  While other vendors demand payment from invoice date, Ingram’s terms are calculated on statement date at the end of each month. With payment due 30 days from statement date, the customer’s payment is due an average of 45 days from invoice (30-59 days). Ingram reserves the right to assess a late charge on all past due invoices.
