Meeting began at 9:30am.Those attending were: Terry Moreland (RPLS), Karla Johnson (Effingham Public), Deb DeJarnette (Lincoln Public), Gisela Motzkus (IDOT), Karen Anderson (Decatur Public), Patsy Walters (RPLS), Shirley Ackerman (Lincoln Library Springfield), Tammy Schnell (Lincoln Land Community College). Laurie Bartolini gave a presentation on “Connexion” the new OCLC cataloging access to WorldCat.Cathy Marx gave an update to the software search. The technology committee is on target with the time-line established to migrate to new software. RMG has been retained to consult new vendors and help us with the migration process. Patsy gave us an update on the certification process. At this time no forms have been submitted. It was felt that there might be confusion about how the certification process is accomplished. Cathy Marx got on the DRA web site and together with the committee went thought the certification process we have in place. Cathy Marx will demonstrate how to find the forms on the web site and how this process coincides with Diana Kovach’s training and her certification at the DRA users group meeting. Karla Johnson reported on the progress of the training task force meeting. She brought results from comments sheets generated by students at Diana Kovachs training classes. They are all positive. Then began an extended converstion about retaining Diana as the trainer when we move to a new system. Various points of view were discussed and it was thought at this time it would be better to table the issue until the next meeting and we will again talk about training issues. The next meeting is scheduled for November 13^th at 10:00am Richland Community College.
