I. Meeting called to order
Shelley Koehler called the meeting to order at 9:30a.m. and thanked Clinton for refreshments.
II. Introductions
Shelley asked everyone to introduce themselves.
III. Approval of April 18, 2002 minutes
Deb DeJarnette made a motion to accept the April, 2002 munutes as written; the motion passed.
IV. Committee Reports
A. Database Standards Cathy Marx
1. list of features in new software
a. adequate training
b. library holdings first
c. customization
d. windows format
e. default library for pickup points
f. easy to use on line public access
g. get rid of complicated keyboard commands for catatloging
h. look for an entire product as a whole, not in modules
i. library as your default pick-up point
2. training needs in the future
a. continue with established certification process

B. Policies LeeAnn Fisher
1. recommendation to update the Policy Manual on the calculation of non-resident fee

C. Technology Pat Burg

b. Paul contacted Mary Steward(RBLS) on their quest for a consultant

g. no Live and Learn grant funds available
h. state library is concerned about the interoperability of all systems
i. right now the state has no guidelines
j. SIRSI will continue to support Classic, but not sure if they will continue to develop new software

l. Karla Johnson made motion to amend with a maximum of $15,000 cost and Joan accepted

V. RPLS Report Paul -
A. Status of 2002 Live & Learn Grant
1. seven new libraries
2. continuing with equipment installation
3. five of seven policy files received
4. Sunnyside Decatur School and Archer Daniels Company are not in the grant
B. ICN(Illinois Century Network)
1. final agreement for Decatur area
2. adjustments to charges
3. 2002 2003 charges are $217 a month
4. before ICN, we paid DRA $25000 a year for connections (after E-Rate)
C. Moen Study
1. July preliminary findings contain no recommendations
2. Thrust of study is financial study of the systems
D. 2003 SIRSI Conference -
1. will be in St. Louis in March
E. CMC(Cataloging Maintenance Center) -
1. Pam is passing 1000 records a month on to libraries
2. non-circulating items may be requested by CMC
F. DRAGON System downtime
1. Saturday July 13th Request batch did finish, but took too long. When it finished the Backup started and knocked people off the system about 11:00a.m. Paul worked with SIRSI to bring the system back up.
2. Monday July 15th Could not get the Marion Database up after the holdings_update program. Global sections were not loading and SIRSI gave us more space on the system.
3. Please log off the system in the evening when you close your libraries.
G. 2003 Calendars
1. please send into Sue as soon as you have your schedules
H. D Dedupe Program
1. half way through the program we had a problem
2. back in SIRSI office for critiquing
3. will be able to start where the program stopped
