Learning Objectives: Learn about old books and how they get their value, so the next time you are weeding, you'll have a better idea what to do with the "old" books.

Description: Just because a book is old, is it rare? Is it really worth anything? What gives a book some value? Do you have to keep all those "valuable" books that have been cleaned out of people's attics and given to you? This session will offer some guidelines for deciding what to do with those books.

Nancy Gillfillan is the  Director of  Fondulac District Library in  East Peoria, IL and owner, The Book Barn, (antiquarian book store),  Walnut, IL. Nancy has been a librarian for more than 35 years and an antiquarian book dealer for more than 22 years. Nancy is also the incoming president for ILA.
