Description: The Soyland Access to Independent Living (SAIL) Disability Awareness Team has been working together to increase awareness and sensitivity toward people with disabilities for 4 years. We have grown from interaction with 752 people in year one to interaction with nearly 3,000 people already this fiscal year. The group has done interactive presentations with Illinois Power employees, the Decatur and Sullivan Chambers of Commerce, and the corporate employees of a major insurance company as well as hundreds of children in the SAIL service area and beyond. The team is made up of SAIL staff and volunteers.
