Learning Objectives: Learn about the talking book program, but also to talk about all the formats books are available in, and how with each format they can serve different populations with differing disabilities.

Description: Come and hear the latest about talking books, the services the Mid-Illinois Talking Book Center has to offer, and how you can promote the program in your library! The session will also provide an introduction to and discussion of books in other formats and how you can use these to serve different populations in your library. From digital audio to e-books, large print, and books on CD-ROM, we are talking about books! Lori will not only discuss the talking book program but also talk about all the formats books are available in, and how with each format you can serve different populations.

Lori Bell is Director of the Mid-Illinois Talking Book Center. She worked with the Heart of Illinois Talking Book Center from 1990-1995, worked in technology at Alliance Library System and some other areas and returned to talking books in August 2002. Lori has her M.S. in Library and Information Science from the University of Illinois..
