We are currently seeking candidates for a Field Marketing Manager. This position is a 6 month temporary position and can either be based in our Dublin, Ohio headquarters or can also be a work from home arrangement. Due to travel requirements, a home location near a major airport hub is ideal.
The target start date for this postition is September 1, 2010.
Responsibilities:
The Field Marketing Manager will work with libraries and supporters in their communities locally, to implement the Geek the Library campaign to increase support for local library funding in 20+ markets within a six month time-frame. The successful candidate will have the responsibility of identifying the most effective local campaign strategies using campaign materials and other tools provided by OCLC and their communication
partners. The candidate will work with leaders in the local library community, teaching them to market and communicate their library's needs using the campaign materials and implementation guidelines specifically
designed for local implementation.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
- Development of local campaign implementation strategy and guidance for libraries in developing their campaign rollout and marketing plan
- Advice and support for paid media placement
- Support for negotiation of added-value programs to leverage paid media placements into with local media outlets (e.g., articles, documentaries, sponsorships, other promotions, etc.)
- Sharing of best practices and ideas between participating libraries
- Integration of direct and e-mail marketing activities
- Collaboration with full-time writer to customize articles and other marketing materials to create localized versions, and place them with local outlets
- Documentation of the results and consolidation with core campaign team to inform the ongoing dissemination of the campaign results to the broader library community.
- The Field Marketing Manager will also be responsible for tracking local success stories, and sharing information with the team. The incumbent will spend 60-75% of his/her time traveling to several markets within the
continental U.S. to work with libraries on a local level. The remainder of the candidate's time will be spent working with the OCLC team to refine the communication tools and tactics and develop new approaches as needs arise.
Qualifications:
